The 1st Syrian Offshore Licensing Round
In May 2007, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced Syria's 1st Offshore Licensing Round. International oil and gas companies are invited to submit bids for 4 blocks offered in connection with this Round, covering 5,000 sq. km, including several basins and a significant number of features which may contain hydrocarbons. Wavefield Inseis' 5,000 km of high quality multi-client 2D seismic data collected over the area in 2005, is the only official data available.
Wavefield Inseis has a 10 years exclusivity contract with the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) and the Syrian Arab Republic Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources for acquisition, processing, marketing and licensing of multi-client 2D, 3D and SBL geophysical data covering the entire Syrian offshore region. Wavefield Inseis 5,000 km 2D data acquired offshore Syria in 2005 is the only recognised official dataset for all upcoming licensing rounds offshore Syria.
