The acquisition of InSeis’ non-exclusive long-offset 2D survey in the Central Nordkapp Basin and adjacent platform areas has started. The 19th round nominations and the interest in our IS-CNB-01 MC2D survey clearly demonstrates an interest from the oil companies to further explore the Central Nordkapp Basin areas, and based on the encouraging results from the interpretation of our 2001 MC2D data, we have decided to acquire an infill and extension to this survey. The survey will be covering the main parts of quadrants 7229, 7230 and 7231, an area likely to be in focus by the oil industry for the years to come. The survey which totals approx. 6 000 km FF will be acquired by InSeis’ vessel M/V Bergen Surveyor, towing a modern +10,000 m, Hydroscience Teledyne SDS-55, Digital solid streamer, using a powerful Bolt Annular Port Gun 85000 source with a volume of 4,400 cu. inches and a pressure of 2,000 psi. The survey will be processed by Geotrace and the final data is scheduled to be available during 2006.
