Geowave Commander commences operation

Bergen, Norway, 11 October 2006. Wavefield Inseis is very pleased to announce today that its M/V Geowave Commander, the first of its fleet of large capacity 3D vessels, has commenced its first 3D survey. The survey is being conducted offshore Norway , in the Barents Sea , for Statoil and is the first project for this newly converted vessel.

Towing 8 streamers, each 4050m long, and dual airgun sources, the vessel went into production on the 30 th September after only 4 days of deployment and testing once on site. Since then it has been in steady production with over 1000 line Km shot to date.

“This is a great achievement with the vessel rapidly achieving steady production following delivery,” said Peter Hooper, Wavefield Inseis VP Operations. “This is a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work of our rigging team and offshore crews since the company start-up. We are very proud to be in efficient production for our client Statoil.”
