Marine Superintendent

Location: Wavefield Inseis Office, Bergen, Norway
   
Key Responsibilities:
  • To support the Operations Department worldwide in management of Marine Subcontractors
  • To support the Vessel Conversion Manager in newbuild/conversions/re-fits
Detailed Job Description:
  • Ensure the delivery of efficient and well run marine operations of chartered vessels operating for Wavefield Inseis
  • Budget control, budget forecasting, and budget quality control of sub.contractors for marine operations
  • Assist when required during marine audits and pre-qualification
  • Attend shipyard start-up meetings, and other meetings with subcontractors and suppliers, as a representative
  • Support yard projects from remote locations for extended periods as required
  • Research, construct, and improve quality control systems to monitor marine subcontractors reporting of marine status and critical spares levels
  • Contractual assistance for new-build/conversion/re-fit projects
  • Establishing and developing business relationships with vessel owners and operators, marine agents and marine support partners regionally

Regional Sales Manager – South America

Location: Wavefield Inseis Office, Houston

Description:
  • Ensure pre-qualification/approval with our client base
  • Keep clients regularly updated regarding our products and services

Shore Representatives

Location: Worldwide-onshore operations hub on project basis
   
Requirements:
  • Experience within marine logistics
  • Ability to operate in a challenging and hectic environment

  • Commitment to an actively responsible role in HSE management with a focus on local sub-contractors and crew journey management
  • Willingness to travel worldwide on “time on/time off” rotation (6 week rotation), with associated placement at local logistical hub

Description:
  • Manage all aspects of the onshore support required at worldwide locations to ensure efficient operations offshore and safe/efficient associated shore activities
  • Management of local shipping agents
  • Local coordination of crew change activities including crew visas, meet/greet, local transport and accommodation
  • Local coordination of helicopter and shipping sub-contractors
  • Coordinate vessel requirements, shipments, and logistical support through the regional operations department, technical department, agents, and other parties

QHSE Manager

Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc in a relevant discipline
  • Proven QHSE Management track record in the marine/offshore industry preferred, relevant QHSE experience in other industry sectors will be considered
  • Auditor training or accreditation
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards such as ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001

Description:
  • Implementation and anchoring of a new, integrated Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management System throughout Wavefield based on the OGP model
  • Implementation of policies and systems at all company worksites, the measurement of company performance through clearly defined KPI’s
  • Internal and external audits of company work sites, procedures, and management systems
  • Ensuring employee QHSE training is implemented according to company, industry, and legislative standards. Assist site managers in developing scheduled audit plans for work sites, and crewing manager in records management

Field Engineer, Navigation

Location: Wavefield Inseis Office, Bergen, Norway
   
Requirements:
  • BSc/Higher education and industry experience within offshore Surveying and related instrumentation. Preferably a minimum of two years experience as Chief Navigator onboard 3D seismic research vessels.
  • In depth knowledge of configuring Concept Systems Spectra and Sprint software.
  • Good knowledge of best industry practice.
  • UNIX / Linux systems administration and scripting.
  • Good Computer Networking skills
  • Systematic and analytical trouble shooting skills.
  • High awareness of HSE and Quality.

Field Engineer, Instrumentation

Location: Wavefield Inseis Office, Bergen, Norway
   
Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc. or equivalent combination of education and experience in Geophysics or Electronics Engineering. Minimum 3 years of field experience in the Instrument/Observer /Geo Department with at least one year as Chief Observer or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of best industry practice.
  • Sound understanding of electronics and all the systems within the Instrumentation/Observer department
  • Ability to take initiative and work without supervision.
  • UNIX / Linux systems administration and scripting.
  • Good Computer Networking skills

  • A minimum of 5 years 3D seismic experience preferably as Party Manager Offshore or Vessel Manager Onshore. Junior candidates will be evaluated providing adequate/relevant experience with correct attitude.

Description:
  • Ensure the efficient daily operations of specified vessels, reporting directly to the VP Operations
  • Active enforcement of QHSE policies and systems offshore, including the measurement of QHSE performance to clearly defined KPIs, as a daily work task
  • Site specific Operational Budget control, including quality control of operational, sub-contractor, and agent invoices
  • Assisting Logistics Department, Technical Department, Agents, and other parties in maintaining an efficient logistical infrastructure around the vessel throughout worldwide operations
  • Preparation of invoices to clients for services rendered, Quality Control of contractual payment based on vessel time sheets and other performance indicators attracting payment
  • Manage Marine Sub-contractors, maintaining good working relationships with vessel owners and operators, marine agents and partners worldwide

Description:
 
  • Implement strategic operational plans at regional level
  • Implementation and communication of QHSE policies and systems offshore, including performance to QHSE KPIs

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a hectic Operations Environment dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors worldwide
Description:
 
  • Daily support in assisting the Operations Department, Technical Department, and worksite managers in coordinating suppliers and shipping agents to maintaining an efficient logistical infrastructure around Wavefield vessels throughout worldwide operations
  • Execution of daily purchasing activities with established suppliers, including logistical & freight options according to requirements
  • Generate and administer purchase orders. Follow and help to improve the procurement process from order to final delivery onboard Wavefield vessels within digital asset management and purchasing system
  • Quality control of third party invoices in relation to PO’s
  • Assist in coordination of import and export activities for Wavefield Inseis equipment worldwide
 
 
OFFSHORE Positions

Seismic Party Chiefs

Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc in relevant discipline
  • Proven track record in the seismic industry, including the ability to bring new 2D/3D vessels safely and efficiently into production
  • Good technical ability in at least one core discipline
  • First class management skills, with a focus on safe and efficient operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to an active leadership and responsibility role in HSE management
Description:
  • Manage all aspects of the offshore worksite to ensure safe and efficient operations

Seismic Observers
(Trainees, Observers, Shift Leader Observers, Chief Observers)

Requirements:
  • BSc/Higher education/Industry experience in computer science, physics, geophysics, or similar discipline preferred, practical experience will be given due consideration
  • Experience in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of industry standard equipment and recording systems
  • Seal and Gunlink 2000 experience in a multi streamer environment preferred
  • Work boat and in-water maintenance experience and qualifications an advantage
Description:

Seismic Navigators
(Trainees, Navigators, Shift Leader Navigators, Chief Navigators)

Requirements:
  • BSc or equivalent degree in geodesy/survey/positioning or similar discipline required. Other qualifications with significant electronics, IT and Computing Science focus will be considered. Practical experience will be given due consideration
  • Candidates with experience in the operation and configuration of Concept Systems range of software and other industry standard equipment, such as Sonardyne acoustics in large 3D spreads are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with Work boats and in-water maintenance of seismic equipment is an advantage
Description:
  • Configuration, operation, and maintenance of all positioning systems and equipment used in marine seismic operations. Including DGPS, hydroacoustics, radio and satellite telemetry and communication systems
  • Planning and execution of the navigation process for the seismic vessel in order to fulfill the survey requirements
  • Analysing, Processing and Quality Control of seismic positioning data

Seismic Source Mechanics
(Trainees, Source Mechanics, Shift Leader Mechanics, Chief Mechanics)

Requirements:
  • Higher Education/Industry experience in engineering, hydraulics, or similar practical discipline preferred, practical experience will be given due consideration
  • Experience in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of industry standard source equipment and high pressure air systems. Candidates experienced in the operation and maintenance of Bolt airgun arrays are encouraged to apply
  • Rigging and lifting, welding, experience in the operation and maintenance of towed equipment
  • Candidates with a proven track record of multi-streamer rigging and operation preferred

QHSE Advisor (offshore)

Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc in relevant technical discipline or any formal QHSE qualification
  • Minimum 5 years offshore technical or managerial experience within in the marine seismic industry
  • A demonstrable interest in at least one of the QHSE disciplines and detailed knowledge of its ISO Standard
  • A motivator for the crew that encourages their active participation in QHSE matters
  • Experience as a lead auditor preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear, concise reports and presentations
Description:
  • Assist Party Chief to manage all QHSE aspects of the offshore worksite
  • Undertake and document Risk Assessments; JSA's; Audits; Training; Incidents Investigations, etc.
  • Would ideally suit a conventional seismic department chief looking for a change of emphasis

Onboard QC Geophysicists and Onboard/
Onshore Processing Geophysicists

(Trainees, Geophysicists, Senior Geophysicists)
Location: Wavefield Inseis Vessels, Wavefield Inseis Offices, Oslo, Norway and/or London, UK

Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc in physics, geophysics, or similar discipline preferred
  • Experience in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of industry standard QC tools such as Landmark software packages and associated operating systems
  • Knowledge of industry standard processing software
  • Senior Geophysicist
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of 2D and 3D seismic processing experience
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in data processing
  • Experience in seismic data analysis, parameter testing and development of robust processing flows
  • Ability to take initiative and responsibility
  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to prepare and present seismic data to clients
  • Fluency in English

All offshore positions require:

  • Candidates not fulfilling all formal competencies, but with a proven direct experience from equivalent positions in marine seismic will be considered
